The Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau board recently awarded funding to three organizations for tourism-related events coming up this year.
Pioneer Playhouse received $5,000 to help with advertising of their summer 2023 shows through digital and print ads, aling with radio ad television spots. The playhouse attracts an audience of around 10,000 each summer for their plays, which run from June 9 – August 12 for their 74th season.
The Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site received $520 to help pay for expenses related to the Springfest event at the battlefield on May 13, which will include local craft, food and seed vendors, along with other activities to educate the public about the battlefield’s 800 acres of nature preserve.
Apex Promoz received $500 to help promote and market the 2023 Run for the Brass 5K, being held on Saturday, June 3 in conjunction with the Great American Brass Band Festival.
The Danville-Boyle County CVB designates a portion of its budget for a grant/sponsorship program that is designed to aid special events and organizations in Boyle County that promote tourism activity, with the primary goal of increasing visitation to Boyle County.
