The lead singer of Alice Blue Gown is Shannon “The Dude” Grigsby from Kentucky Sports Radio. Their performance attracted a crowd of more than 300 people.

“We’re so impressed with the turnout,” said Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeff Jewel. “We had 70 people at Constitution Square to see Shane White, and I see a lot them have came down here, too. Restaurants are all full, we have a brought a lot of people into to town with this, which is always good. I loved when we introduced the bands getting to look out and see the square pretty much full.”

Executive director of the Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau Kendall Clinton is glad to see the concert series attracting new people to Danville.

“Its a great crowd,” Clinton said. “We have had several people come up and ask up about Danville and where the restaurants are. It’s nice for people to be able to get out and enjoy the weather.”

The Downtown Downbeat concert series was made possible by a joint effort from the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, Destination Danville and the Great American Brass Band Festival.
