Montrude H. Lanham

Montrude H. Lanham of Gravel Switch, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 04, 2023 at her home.
She was born on March 21, 1935 on Little South in Casey County to the late June and Clovie Hollon. Mrs. Lanham spent her lifetime in service to the communities around her.
She was part of the Gravel Switch and Forkland communities, attending and volunteering in numerous events over several decades.
She supported her children in 4H locally and district-wide. She was also active with the UK Extension Services, volunteering both at the local and state levels.
In farming, she was a part of several organizations, including Dairymen Incorporated, Marion County Farm Bureau, and Marion County Cattlemen’s Association.
Mrs. Lanham was a faithful member of Gravel Switch Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and reading, and was well-known for her jam cakes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William “Gene” Lanham.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sandy (Pat) O’Brien, Terry (Bill) Williams, Kay (Alex) Johnson; brother, Wayne (Judy) Hollon; sister, Roma (Jim) Brown; three grandchildren, Daniel Williams (Jenna Land), Liz (Andy) Hill, Kaylee Johnson.
Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 09, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jim Bratcher. Interment to follow in Haysville Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chip Hollon, Kevin Lanham, Lee Hayes, Tom Sauer, and Eddie Lanham, and Brandon Cox.
Honorary pallbearers are all of the wonderful caregivers who assisted with Mrs. Lanham over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Marion County Cattlemen’s Scholarship Fund, the Gravel Switch Community Center, or the Forkland Community Center.
