Mercer County will host the 12th Region baseball tournament for the first time at its new field, while 12th Region softball teams will convene in Somerset for their tournament.

Mercer will host Garrard County on Tuesday in one of four first-round games and will host the semifinals and finals Wednesday and Thursday on the field that opened April 18.

Boyle County will host West Jessamine in a first-round game Tuesday for the right to advance to Mercer.

In the softball tournament, Garrard County will play East Jessamine on Tuesday and Boyle will play West Jessamine on Wednesday at Somerset’s John W. Barnett Field.

Semifinals will be played Thursday, and the championship will be Saturday.
