Sheena McGuffey, FNP-C, has joined the staff at Ephraim McDowell Family & Internal Medicine and will begin seeing patients later this month with Dr. Mohammad Shahzad, Dr. Justin Lande and Sabrina Wellman, FNP-C. She will be providing primary care to adult patients.

McGuffey earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2011 from the University of Kentucky and her master’s degree in nursing in 2021, from Maryville University in St. Louis. She is board-certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and she enjoys caring for adult patients across the lifespan.

McGuffey lives in Danville with her husband and son. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, canning and traveling.

Health screenings in Harrodsburg

Ephraim McDowell Health is sponsoring a free health screening at the Mercer County Farmers’ Market (560 Linden Avenue) in Harrodsburg on June 7. The screenings will be offered from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Health screenings that will be offered include blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index, and take-home colorectal cancer screening kit (over age 45). After the screenings are complete, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their results with a licensed health professional. The screenings are open to the public for anyone 18 years and older.
