NEWS RELEASE
Bluegrass RIDE, a new regional public transit system, is hiring drivers for its Danville service which will launch later this summer.
“We’re looking for friendly people with good driving records for full time and part time positions,” Bluegrass RIDE Driver Supervisor, Lacey Johnson. “And you don’t need a commercial driver’s license to drive our brand new 14-passenger mini-buses.”
The new Bluegrass RIDE Danville transit service will feature three bus routes to serve important destinations all over Danville. Each route will run every hour, Monday through Saturday and all buses will be fare-free.
“As soon as we hire and train drivers, we will start the service,” Johnson said. “Driver positions start at $15 per hour and include great benefits such as medical insurance, 15 paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and lots more.”
Bluegrass RIDE is a service of the Blue Grass Community Action Program.
“Bluegrass RIDE recently introduced a similar service in Georgetown and we have seen an incredible response as residents embrace this new, free way to get around town,” Senior Director of Transportation Services, Taylor Veatch. “Within the year, Bluegrass RIDE will also offer regional service connecting Danville with Lexington.”
