Hi. My name is Leo, and I’m this week’s featured pet. I’m a large male mixed breed about 2½ years old with a giant melon. If my adorable big noggin’ doesn’t immediately make you fall in love, my even bigger heart will. I love people and will race to greet everyone I see with a goofy smile and lots of kisses.

When I know I need to be a good boy and sit, my excitement escapes through my little happy dance with my front paws. My large size may make me seem intimidating at first glance, but within seconds, you will see I am just a gentle giant and a teddy bear. To be honest, I don’t think I am that big…I think I make the perfect lap dog.

I love to run more than anything, and I’d like a home with space for that. If you throw the ball, I will gleefully chase after it, though I probably won’t pick it up and bring it back…I just want to run. Despite my love for galloping around and my initial excitement when I see someone, I am rather calm-mannered and will ask for a lot of cuddles.

I was a good boy when I visited McDowell Place for a puppicino last month. (I was super excited, but that’s not bad, right?) I met kids, puppies, dogs, and older folks and charmed them all, and I can’t wait to charm you.

Leo is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Apply here: https://bit.ly/2Qo4EfE and visit us Monday-Friday between 1 and 4 p.m., or if you can’t make it during open hours, email karikuh@dbchs.org for an appointment.
