Michael Harry “Mike” Phillips, age 66 of the Saint Joe Community of Marion County, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born October 27, 1956, in Danville to the late John Harry Phillips and Jo Frances Poynter Phillips. He was a retired employee of Steyer Seeds in Tiffin, Ohio. He was a Christian. He was a hard worker and enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, deer hunting and mowing grass. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Janie Bright Phillips; two daughters, Kim Ellis (Chad) and Kelly White (Ray) all of Harrodsburg; three stepchildren, Melanie Spalding (Bill Wolf) of Saint Joe, Brad Spalding (Carrie) of Campbellsville and Stephanie Spalding of Saint Mary’s; four grandchildren, Clay White, Livi White, Tristan Ellis and Aynslee Ellis; five step grandchildren, Erin Thompson, Phoenix Spalding, Asher Spalding, Scarlett Spalding, and Ethan Newton; one sister, Margaret Anderson (Buddy) of Danville. A celebration of life will be held at 7 pm Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Greg Warren will officiate. Cremation will follow with later interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery. The visitation is 3-7 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home. Memorials may go to Hosparus Green River, 462 N.
