This week’s featured pet is Bo, a small Russell Terrier mix with a (for now) big belly and an even bigger heart ready to join your family. Bo was surrendered to the shelter by someone whose circumstances made it impossible for them to keep him. He’s been in a loving home for five years and just needs to find a new forever home to give him the love and attention he deserves.

What can we say about Bo? He’s so sweet and carefree that you can’t help smiling with him. He’s a small, chonky boy with tons of energy, and, at around five years old, Bo’s still has many years of love to give.

Bo’s favorite things are a good scratch under his chin or a belly rub. Given the chance, he will try to get in your lap. He wants all your love and will get as close as possible to ensure he’s getting it. He likes toys, and after playing, he’ll snuggle up in a soft doggie bed.

Bo is definitely overweight and must be kept on a strict feeding schedule for a while. No treats or table scraps, though we’re sure he’d happily take them. With a controlled diet and lots of walks, Bo will, fairly quickly, return his sporting weight. This won’t be a problem with his bubbling enthusiasm and energy.

Bo is fixed, microchipped, and neutered and ready to go home. Apply now: dbchs.org/adopt and meet him at DBCHS between 1-4 pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. We hope to see you soon.
