The community of students! Toliver students are imaginative, fun, and full of energy — all great qualities to use in dance and drama class!

Please briefly summarize your related work experience before you took this position.

Before working at Toliver, I worked in the D.C. area as a teaching artist, director, and middle school theatre teacher.

Do you have history with the Danville community? If so, please summarize. If not, what brought you here?

I am a 2014 graduate of Centre College, with a lot family connections to Centre and Danville, and my husband and I wanted to move closer to family when my daughter was born last year.

What is your background in the arts?

I have my B.A. in dramatic arts from Centre College and my M.A. in theatre education from Emerson College in Boston. I have been performing in plays and dancing off and on since I was young. I was very involved in theatre in high school, and I have known since I was 16 that I wanted to teach theatre!

What are some things you are excited to work on, or accomplish, as Toliver’s dance and drama teacher?

I am excited for students to collaborate, create, and build confidence in my class! I am particularly fond of using puppetry and hope to incorporate that into my work with Toliver students.
