The free event will have pumpkins, bounce houses, food trucks and a spin on trick-or-treating.

“We are doing a trail-or-treat so kids can walk the trail at the park,” said Apex Promoz Event Director John Bodner. “We have a lot of businesses participating to hand out candy.”

There will be giveaways of Fall Y’all ceramic mugs and reusable bags. There will also be a costume contest with first, second and third place awards in the following categories: Best Child Girl, Best Child Boy, Best Adult Female, Best Adult Male, Best Family, and Best Pet.

Along with the other celebrations, there will be a Fall Y’all 5K and 1-mile fun run. Bodner expects several hundred people to attend.

“The festival side is going to be really good, I expect 300 to 400 people to come to that,” Bodner said. “For the race numbers are low right now but most of our Danville races we get a lot of our sign ups in the last couple days. I expect we will have about 75 to 100 participants.”

Race entrance fees are $25 for the fun run and $30 for the 5K. Participants can sign up by going to rusignup.com and searching for the Fall Y’all race.
