Student allegedly calls in bomb threat at DHS

On Wednesday Nov. 15 at 1:52 p.m. the Danville 911 Center received a call of a bomb threat at Danville High School. The unidentified caller stated a bomb had been placed at Danville High School and then hung up. Danville Police responded to the scene and began working with school staff and emergency personnel conducting an internal and external sweep of the school. Officers were able to develop a suspect in the case and determined there was no legitimate safety threat. Officers located the suspect on school grounds and arrested a 15-year-old male student. The suspect was in custody and the all-clear was given at 2:20 p.m. The juvenile was transported to the Danville Police Department and charged with first degree terroristic threatening, which is a Class C felony.
