Three of Danville Sings’s community choirs will present concerts in the coming weeks.

The Danville Children’s Choir will perform at on Dec. 2 at the Christmas Lighting and again at 3 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. On Dec. 9 the group will sing at Shaker Village in the Meeting House at 5:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m., also at the Shaker Village Meeting House, the 54 singers of Sounding Joy Women’s Choir and Resonance Men’s Choir will combine to present some familiar seasonal music and some music from a wide variety of composers.

The two adult choirs will perform their full program at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 at First Christian Church in Danville. Many choir soloists plus a guest percussionist playing the Irish bodhran and a snare drum will join the choirs.

For free admission on Dec. 9 to Shaker Village, attendees may bring a non-perishable food item. At the full concert on Dec. 14, the choirs will be accepting cash or check donations to help defray the cost of the Danville High School Choir’s trip to New York City.
