Danville-Boyle County Humane Society

The Pet of the Week is Chevy, a very chill and friendly Treeing Coonhound. He’s almost two years old and loves playing with kids. He’s so chill that he even loves hanging out in his crate!

Chevy is a big goofball. He loves to lope around the yard, sniffing every inch. Then again, given the chance, he will run like the wind. Being a treeing hound, Chevy is a big, high-energy, muscular dog, so be prepared to finetune his leash skills. He will be happy sitting with you on the couch, but what he really wants is to go on long walks or run with you.

Chevy is an intelligent dog so he gets bored quickly. He needs lots of play romping in the yard chasing a ball. When his humans aren’t around, Chevy will need things to keep him distracted, like a treat-filled Kong or puzzle.

Chevy gets along with all the other dogs here at the shelter and would do well with a doggo pal. His smiling face makes some folks wonder, especially when he’s running at them full tilt. Yes, his teeth are showing but I promise you, he’s smiling!

Chevy is fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to go home with you today! Apply now: dbchs.org/adopt and meet him at DBCHS between 1-4 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 1-7 p.m. Thursday, and Saturday between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. We hope to see you soon!
