Boyle County girls soccer coach Brian Deem has been named the United Soccer Coaches South Region Coach of the Year for small public schools.
United Soccer Coaches is the world’s largest soccer coaches association, serving members at every level of the game. The organization recognizes regional and national coaches of the year, and Deem and other regional winners were considered for the national award.
“I am completely shocked, especially considering what states include the South Region,” Deem said. “I am so extremely proud of Boyle County and of these ladies and their accomplishments. In the end, we all know as coaches we are only as good as our players, parents, administration and support staff.”
Deem led Boyle to a 20-6-1 record and its first appearance in the semifinals of the state tournament. The Lady Rebels won their eighth regional title since 2015 and their eighth overall.
He will be recognized Jan. 12 at the USC convention in Anaheim, California.
