William “Bill” Eugene Gatliff, 86, of Danville passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Born in Boyle County on February 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Betty Selch Gatliff and the late Moses Edward Gatliff. Bill was a remarkable man, never could anyone compare. He had a way to command the attention of people around him, always leaving everyone smiling and laughing. He kept you on edge to see what he would come up with next. His jokes came so naturally, just a part of who he was. The very best chapter of the book of Billy will always be watching his second courtship with his beautiful Marijane.

Bill and Marijane married young and quickly had four children. After 20 years, their lives went in different directions. After being away from each other 42 years, Bill, being full of game and a master with words, quickly won Marijane’s heart for the second time. They remarried 3 years ago.

His family and friends will cherish the memory of his quick wit, his love for family, and his zest for life. Bill worked several years of his life in sporting goods sales as well as with horses at Cambus-Kenneth Farm and then retired from PTI Railroad Transportation.
