Published 5:19 pm Sunday, January 14, 2024
Boyle County Emergency Management will activate a community warming center at Centenary Methodist Church of Danville, beginning Sunday, January 14 at 8:00 p.m.
This center is available to Danville/Boyle County residents in need of warmth. The center will provide cots and blankets, but visitors are encouraged to bring their own pillows. No pets are allowed.
Temperatures will remain below freezing through at least the weekend. The Center will remain open until temperatures are above 32 degrees.
Volunteers are needed, as the center cannot operate without one female and one male volunteer at all times.
A volunteer sign-up form is available here: https://www.signupgenius.com/.
You may sign up for multiple time slots. In fact, it’s encouraged. Expect more volunteer slots to open as additional frigid days are forecasted.
