NEWS RELEASE

Boyle County Fire Department received a call at 8:05 a.m. on Jan. 15 reporting a confirmed structure fire on Minors Branch Road in the Forkland community. Upon arrival, BCFD found heavy smoke and fire conditions. Once BCFD arrived on scene fire crews began initial attack. The extreme cold and heavy fire load made operations even more dangerous and difficult. Boyle County Fire was on scene for more than four hours and had to utilize drafting operations from a nearby creek to ensure having adequate water to fight the fire. No injuries were reported.

• Boyle County Fire Department received a call on Jan. 3 at 5:41 p.m. from Danville 911 Center reporting a structure fire on Scrubgrass Road in the Mitchellsburg community. Upon arrival, BCFD found a fully involved mobile home on fire. Once BCFD arrived on scene fire crews began initial attack and were able to get the fire extinguished in less than an hour.
