Robert Windell King

Robert Windell King, 83, a beloved father, brother, and friend, left us on February 2, 2024. Born on July 3, 1940, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Otis and Ollie Wilcher King.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Marie King, and his parents and siblings Lucille Pendergrass, Vernon King, Betty Evans, Earl King, Berl King, Fay Hodges, Ray King, and Diane Burton.

Windell was known for his unwavering work ethic, his meticulous nature, and his passion for doing a job right. He owned Windell King Construction and built numerous houses and commercial buildings in central Kentucky. He found solace in hunting and fishing. Windell and Alice loved to travel in their spare time.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina King, and his sisters, Sue York, Jean Boynton, Joann Taylor, and Sandra Brown along with many nieces and nephews. Their bond was unbreakable, and they brought immense joy and laughter into each other’s lives.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. The visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Friends, family, and acquaintances are welcome to attend and pay their respects. Burial will be with his beloved wife Alice at Bellevue Cemetery.
