Local Joy Ride campaign wins four ADDYs

Kentucky Tourism’s Joy Ride campaign, which encourages out-of-state travelers to explore the backroads and visit the small towns in Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region, was awarded four American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) at the Ad Club Lexington’s recent yearly gala.
Kentucky advertising agency COOMER created the campaign and was on hand to receive the awards.
The Joy Ride Commercial Spot, featuring and narrated by Mike Wolfe from The History Channel TV show American Pickers, alongside Heritage Tourism Preservationist and Kentucky native Leticia Cline, won in the following categories:
- Gold ADDY for Elements of Advertising – Cinematography
- Silver ADDY for Elements of Advertising – Film and Video
- Silver ADDY for Film, Video and Sound – Internet Commercial.
In addition, Joy Ride Illustrated Series was awarded a Gold ADDY for Elements of Advertising – Illustration.
The two gold ADDY winners will go on to compete in the district American Advertising Award Competition in March.
The Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau, under the leadership of Executive Director Kendall Clinton, is one of the participants in the Joy Ride Campaign, highlighting the charming and unique history and culture of Danville and Boyle County.
