The Danville Country Club will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in the fall of this year. Since its opening, dining at the country club was only available to club members, but not anymore. For the first time in 100 years, The Julep at the Danville Country Club is open to the public.

In addition to being open to the public, The Julep is now under new ownership. The new owners are a mother-and-son business partnership, Nicole Cacciatore and Mason Vannoy, and they want to revitalize the restaurant.

“It’s more of a casual atmosphere,” Cacciatore said. “You can come in and wear whatever you want. You don’t have to dress up.”

It is the fourth restaurant that Cacciatore has owned since opening her first in 2018. Her experience in the restaurant industry goes back to her childhood.

“My family has owned restaurants since before I was born,” Cacciatore said. “I was raised in restaurants my whole life. I grew up playing in restaurants and handing out napkins until I started waiting.”

It is Vannoy’s first time running a restaurant, and he began working in the restaurant industry three years ago.

“I’ve quickly learned all I could in the short time I could,” Vannoy said. “Right now, this is a learning curve, but it is going pretty well. I was nervous at first but every day it gets a little easier. It is starting to come naturally now.”

Cacciatore is thankful for the opportunity to run The Julep and loves providing a place for people to relax and have a good time.

“We are blessed that they let an outsider come in and open this restaurant,” Cacciatore said. “We want to make it flourish, make great food, and have people leave happy. What makes me the happiest is when I walk into the room and see people smiling and talking. That is the best part of running a restaurant to me is seeing that.”

The restaurant’s menu features American-style food like sandwiches, wraps, salads, chicken, steak, and a kid’s menu.
