During the Danville City Commission meeting on April 8, Kinder Morgan Vice President Allen Fore and owner Team Leader LLC. CJ May delivered an update on the progress of getting the new entrance to Chick-fil-A open.

“Since we last briefed the council, I think we have made good progress,” Fore said. “Communication between the parties and the city has been a game-changer.  We know what needs to be done. We know what we have to do to get it done. Now it is just the processes and technical process.”

The new entrance is still on track to be open by the end of the month, barring weather interference. May hopes to continue the development around the restaurant once the road is open.

“We have a lot of good tenants who want to join us out there,” May said. “It is some stuff people will be glad to hear about. I didn’t want to put more pressure on the other two access points. We didn’t want to develop the property until the traffic situation is under control.

Danville Utility Director Marshall Carrier delivered an update on the Perryville Road water line project and explained why there have been numerous boil water advisories.

“It is an old system. Anytime you are following the same line you are going to run into issues with the old line,” Carrier said. “It might be a lot deeper than anticipated or in a different location.”

He explained that currently there is only one water line providing water to Perryville and the second line will help prevent future boil water advisories.
