“A primary goal of the festival is to encourage both individual and corporate actions to protect our environment,” said CREEC board member Malissa McAlister.

The festival will feature live music by Shawn White. Food will be provided by Kentucky Crepes and The Chuck Wagon.

This year’s festival has 35 exhibitors including InterCounty Energy, Solarize Boyle, Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge, Boyle County Farmers Market, and the Arts Commission. Several exhibits will feature activities for children.

Major sponsors are the Clarks Run Environmental Education Corporation, Bluegrass Greensource, Boyle County Solid Waste, Danville Public Works Dept. and the U.K. Extension Office.

Earth Day was first observed in 1970 in the United States and is now celebrated in 192 countries. This is the 12th festival sponsored by the CREEC.

Festivities will be held indoors if there is rain. The Boyle County U.K. Extension Office is located at 99 Corporate Drive in Danville.
