Wade Stallard tied for fifth place and Hayden Martin tied for ninth place Tuesday to lead the Boyle County boys to a fourth-place finish at the KHSAA State Archery Championship in Lexington.

Stallard, who tied for 17th place a year ago, shot 292 of a possible 300 and Martin shot 291. The two Boyle seniors were the highest-scoring archers from area schools in the event at Central Bank Center.

The Rebels’ team score of 1,986 was 14 points behind team champion Anderson County.

Mercer County (1,979) finished sixth in the boys team standings. The Titans were led by Trey Reilly (286), who tied for 34th place; Landon McRay and Billy Vaught (285) tied for 43rd.

Sirenna Adams shot 285 and tied for 24th place to lead the Boyle girls, who tied for 12th place in their team competition.
