Dry Branch Farm Market celebrated their grand opening on April 18. Located on Main Street in Danville next to Burke’s Bakery, Dry Branch aims to provide locally raised meats along with other craft foods such as bread, farm-fresh eggs, granola, and sauces.

The store’s owners Zach and Leah Gibbs are eager to provide high-quality meat to the Danville community and are surprised by the success of the store so far.

“It has been a lifelong dream of ours. We are so proud to be part of the Danville community,” said Zach Gibbs. “It has been a crazy success so far, more than we expected. We are so thankful. We look forward to being here for many, many years.”

Zach Gibbs was raised on a farm and first gained an interest in owning a specialty meat shop when in high school.

“I can remember like it was yesterday, me and my dad talking about how to make a direct farmer-to-consumer line. It has been years in the making but here we are,” Zach Gibbs said. “We have all sorts of general store items sourced from other small businesses. We want to support other small businesses that share our values and standards. We want it to be a destination place.”

The Gibbs think their store is in the perfect location.

“A few years ago we were looking to invest in agriculture and build this business,” Zach Gibbs said. “We think Central Kentucky is the best place to be if you are in the livestock business. When it came to our store location, a place opened up next to Burke’s Bakery, one of the busiest places in town. It was a no-brainer.”
