Baril Park Summer Nights in downtown Perryville return on May 3. From May through August, the first Friday of every month will feature family activities, games, and free popcorn at Baril Park.

To celebrate the kickoff, there will be live music on May 3, and merchants in Perryville will be running late hours and Mother’s Day promotions. Main Street Perryville Executive Director Aly Huff hopes the merchants will create other promotions throughout the summer.

“There will be another large-scale shopping event in September closer to back to school,” Huff said. “They have created a merchants group so they are getting together and communicating. Hopefully, there will be more collaborations to come.”

It is the second year that Perryville has hosted Baril Park Summer Nights. With the success of the program last year, a block party with water games has been added to the list of summer fun.

“It was great last year,” Huff said. “We were extremely pleased with the attendance and support from our community. There was a great turnout last year. It was nice to help the community have something to do in the summer months when school is not in session. It gets the community together.”

Another new addition to this year’s lineup will be an outdoor movie showing in July. For more information, go to the Main Street Perryville Facebook page.
