DISD honors Rookies, Classified and Certified Staff of the Year

The Danville Independent School District had an end-of-the-year celebration on May 28 with all district staff. From each school and on the district level, individuals were recognized as Rookie of the Year, Classified Staff of the Year and Certified Staff of the Year. The winner of the Lydia Ellis Innovative Arts Educator of the Year Award was also announced. These recognitions were based on a nominations process.

Dee Ann Gray, the John W. Bate Middle School and Danville High School choir and piano teacher, received the Lydia Ellis Innovative Arts Educator of the Year Award.

Certified Staff of the Year: Brittney Groves.

Edna L. Toliver Intermediate School staff recognitions:

Rookie of the Year: Sarah Moss

Classified Staff of the Year: Carolyn “Sue” Hubble

Certified Staff of the Year: Lyndsey Carpenter

John W. Bate Middle School staff recognitions: 

Rookies of the Year: Derick Hudson and Chasity Shirley

Classified Staff of the Year: Kristin Allen

Certified Staff of the Year: Tara Emerson.

Danville High School staff recognitions: 

Rookie of the Year: Elizabeth “Liz” Graves

Classified Staff of the Year: Sheila Walker and Angela “Angie” Smith

Certified Staff of the Year: Shelby Cameron.

District-level staff recognitions: 

Rookie of the Year: Pamela Hambrick

Classified Staff of the Year: Tammy Lynn and Kim Hawkins

Certified Staff of the Year: Suzanne Farmer.
