Gerald “Jerry” Boyd, 90, died peacefully on June 18, 2024, with his wife by his side. He was born on March 1, 1934, in Uniontown, PA, to the late Kenneth and Eleanor Boyd. Jerry Boyd was a proud US Army veteran who served his country with honor, reaching the rank of Captain. His commitment to education led him to a successful career as a School Administrator, shaping the minds of countless students and colleagues.
Jerry’s passion for volunteering started with the Constitution Square Festival and many years supporting the Great American Brass Band Festival. His years of coaching left a lasting impact on those around him, inspiring many to strive for excellence and kindness. He will be remembered for his dedication, integrity, and unwavering support for his community.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Jane Scarborough Boyd, daughter Lisa Boyd, and son Chris Boyd, his stepchildren Blake (Diane) Scarborough, and Susan Scarborough (George) Rose, and grandson Connor Rose, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated School Administrator who touched the lives of many throughout his lifetime.
The funeral service will be at 4 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2024, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Colby Smith officiating. Prior to the service, a Visitation will take place from 1 – 4 p.m. at First Christian Church.
