The investigation remains underway, with Danville Police unable to provide any updates on potential motives, suspects, or if the shootings were connected.

“We are not ruling anything out at this time,” said Danville Police Assistant Chief Glenn Doan.

The two shootings occurred within an hour of each other in the early morning hours of June 9. At 2:51 a.m., Danville police responded to a call at a private club at 750 Dillehay Street called The Den. Police found the weapon that had been fired at the location. No victim was located at the scene, but minutes later, emergency units responded to a residence on Mason Avenue where Grey was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and has since been released.

At 3:47 a.m., police responded to a shots fired call on the 300 block of North Fifth Street. Upon arrival, officers located Stitt inside a pickup truck that crashed into the yard of a residence. Stitt was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police determined Stitt was traveling on North Fifth Street, where an unknown number of shooters fired at him from the west side of the street. Police believe that Stitt attempted to flee in reverse before he crashed the truck. Stitt was transported to the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.
