BCTC Danville campus director named

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) announced the appointment of Ryan “Ty” Howard as the new director of the Danville Campus.

In his new role, he will oversee campus operations, community engagement initiatives, and support academic programs, continuing his legacy of excellence in education and leadership.

Howard brings over 30 years of dedicated experience in the K-12 education sector to this pivotal role. Throughout his distinguished career, Ty has excelled as an educator, coach, and mentor. Over the past 20 years, he has held key leadership positions, serving as both an assistant principal and principal.

His exemplary leadership skills were recognized as he was identified as a mentor for new principals, guiding and supporting the next generation of educational leaders.  Ty’s extensive background includes developing strong community partnerships and facilitating the expansion of educational opportunities in the communities he has served. His commitment to education and community development has left a lasting impact, fostering environments where students and educators thrive.

Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from Morehead State University, a Master of Arts Degree from Union College, and an Education Administration and Supervision Certification from Eastern Kentucky University.

He joined BCTC in 2023 as the director of the Student Support Services Program, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and a dedication to student success.
