Woman arrested after stabbing incident

Danville Police responded to a residence on North Street for a stabbing on Monday, April 1 at 9 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Terry Dunn suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper back. During the investigation, officers determined that Dunn and his girlfriend, 33-year-old Kayla Marcum-McCormick, were engaged in a verbal altercation before the stabbing occurred.
It was during the argument that Marcum-McCormick retrieved a kitchen knife and stabbed Dunn. Officers recovered the knife at the scene.
Marcum-McCormick was arrested and charged with assault 2nd degree (domestic violence) and tampering with physical evidence. Dunn was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
