Garrard man faces child exploitation charges

LANCASTER — A Garrard County man is facing several charges related to child exploitation offenses.

Roger D. Davis, 22, of Lancaster, was arrested at 7:08 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at his residence by Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch officers. According to KSP, Davis was arrested as the result of an undercover internet crimes against children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading images of child sexual exploitation online.

According to KSP, the investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at his residence. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

Davis is currently charged with 18 counts of distribution and 20 counts possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. As of Wednesday afternoon, Davis was lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.

Casey man arrested in connection with shooting

LIBERTY — A Casey County man is facing an assault charge stemming from a shooting that occurred Tuesday night.

Marcus A. Bryant, 21, of Liberty, was arrested at 3 a.m. Wednesday on Neff Road, as the result of an investigation into a shooting that happened about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, where Bryant and Hunter Gillock, 21, also of Liberty, had been involved in an altercation.

According to KSP, Gillock sustained a single gunshot wound and was flown to University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington where he was in stable condition as of Wednesday late afternoon.

Bryan was lodged in the Casey County Jail.
