Lodge offers country breakfast

Danville’s Franklin Masonic Lodge will have a country breakfast 7-10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at the lodge hall at 400 N. Fourth St. The menu will include pork tenderloin, country ham, sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, gravy, coffee, OJ and pastries. 

Free kids day camp

Our Savior Lutheran Church, 285 Hill n’Dale, is having a free kids sports camp from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 7 for all children ages 5-13. A parental waiver is to be completed at registration. All food provided. There will be sports, crafts and activities provided either rain or shine. Children are to wear appropriate clothes and shoes to run and play. For more information, call (815) 675-6044.

Danville community blood drive

The Kentucky Blood Center will be having a blood drive in Danville from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5 at the Boyle County Public Library, community room. All donors  will receive a special “Win, Place and Show You Care” T-shirt.

Free hunter education student course

STANFORD — A free Kentucky hunter education student course is scheduled for Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Sportsman Club, located off U.S. 150 near Cedar Creek Lake Dam on Sportsman Lane Road.

The course, sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Cedar Creek Sportsman Club, includes classroom instruction in hunter ethics, wildlife conservation and identification, outdoor survival, first aid, firearm safety, treestand safety, bow hunting and ammunition. The last session includes live fire and a written examination.

A course completion card will be issued to successful students which is valid in any state, province or territory in North America. Attendance at all sessions is required unless an alternative classroom method is utilized. Pre-registration is required for all courses and is completed by visiting the hunter education page at fw.ky.gov.

Persons born on or after Jan. 1, 1975, shall carry a valid hunter education course completion card while hunting. Kentucky accepts certifications from other states and provinces. Hunter Education certification is in addition to appropriate license and permit requirements. Children must be 9 years old in order to complete the course. Children under age 12 and persons exempt from purchasing a hunting license are not required to possess  a hunter education card while hunting. However, children under age 12 who have not completed hunter education shall be accompanied by an adult of at least 18 years of age while hunting.
