A Casey County grand jury indicted the following people on May 8:

• Ronna L. Carmicle, 43, 167 Valley View Drive, Liberty: first-degree promoting contraband, when she allegedly introduced alprazolam tablets and a glass pipe into the Casey County Detention Center; tampering with physical evidence; possession of drug paraphernalia; third-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug unspecified. Bail was set at $10,000 cash or property. Chief Steven Garrett of the Liberty Police Department testified.

• Kelly Brent Elmore, 45, 578 Bastin Creek Road, Kings Mountain: first-degree burglary when he allegedly entered a residence to commit a crime then fled armed with a deadly weapon; theft by unlawful taking or disposition of a firearm; theft by unlawful taking between $500 and $10,000; first-degree criminal mischief when he allegedly damaged a window and siding on a home and damaged other personal property inside the home. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. Deputy Chad Weddle with the Casey County Sheriff’s Office testified.

• Michael Shannon Drury, 46, 1451 Thompson Road, Lancaster: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, methamphetamine, second or more offense; first-degree being a persistent felony offender; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $25,000 cash. Weddle testified.

• Monnie Sue Reed, 39, 4190 Ky. 1778, McKinney: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $10,000 cash or property. Weddle testified.

• Lindsey Jo Edwards, 21, 3139 Ky. 49, Liberty: first-degree promoting contraband by bringing syringes and marijuana into the Casey County Detention Center; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; second-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug unspecified. Bail was set at $1,500 cash or property. Weddle testified.

• Deborah Jo Smith, 48, 197 Lewis Ave., Liberty: first-degree possession of controlled substance, methamphetamine, second offense; driving under the influence of intoxicants; possession of drug paraphernalia; failure to use proper signal. Bail was set at $1,500 cash or property. Weddle testified.

• Bradley Shane Payton, 30, 851 Lancaster Road, Stanford: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; illegal possession of a legend drug; public intoxication. No bail was set and a summons was issued. Weddle testified.

• Ronnie Gene Godbey, 48, 90 North Ky. 837, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, third or more offense; possession of drug paraphernalia. A summons was issued. Weddle testified.
