Janice Hines

1929-2017

Janice Clair Stille Hines died on July 8, 2017 at the age of 87. She was born on August 8, 1929 in Mercer, PA. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from the University of Kentucky and a MA in Dance from New York University. She taught dance at University of Kentucky and Vassar College.

She married Fred Hines in 1956, with whom she lived in Sag Harbor, New York until 2010 when they moved to Danville, KY. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Danville.

She is survived by her husband Fred; her children Rebecca Markley (Martin) of Lawrence, KS, Brooke Scherlie (Paul) of Beavercreek, OR, Gretchen Hines-Ward (Ralph) of Harrodsburg,KY, and Todd Hines (Emily) of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren Emma, Caroline, Ben, Hannah, Andrew, Freya, Henrik, Astrid, Annika, Kirsten, and Abby; and great-grandchildren Levi, Asa, Simeon, and Solon.

A memorial service will be held at Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods, 5220 Grey Oak Lane, Nicholasville, KY at 2 PM on Thursday, July 13. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Rd.
