A local business owner has filed to run as a magistrate in Boyle County.

Jason Cullen, owner of The Hub Coffee Shop and Cafe, has filed to run against Jack Hendricks, longtime magistrate.

“I thought it would be good to give the people of the fourth district a different voice,” Cullen said on Monday.

Recent filings in the Boyle County Clerk’s Office include:

• Kevin Caudill, non-partisan, Danville City Commissioner, P.O. Box 282, Danville;

• Jason Cullen, Republican, Magistrate District 4, 949 Pecos Circle, Danville; and

• Mike Perros, incumbent, non-partisan, Danville Mayor, P.O. Box 249, Danville.

Perros is completing his first tenure as mayor in Danville. He was elected to the position in 2014.

Caudill was appointed commissioner in 2002, following the passing of his mother, Commissioner Nancy Caudill. He has served since.
