Boyle County Board of Education – 6:35 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at  Boyle County Board of Education Central Office Conference Room. This is a notice of cancellation of the 6:30 p.m. regular working session board meeting and rescheduled as special called board meeting.

The Women’s Network presents Carolyn Dupont on criminal justice reform,  7 p.m. March 13 at the Inter-County Community Room, 1009 Hustonville Road, Danville. This is an open meeting for the community. Dupont is a history professor at EKU whose specialties include African-American history. She’s on the Commonwealth Policy Institute (CPI) working group on criminal justice reform. Her talk will start by placing the criminal justice system into the historical context of American race relations. She will describe how people brought into the criminal justice system — even for minor offenses — acquire a web of legal, civil and financial disability that can haunt them all their lives.She will also detail the extraordinary costs of mass incarceration on taxpayers. Info: call (859) 236-0305

Forkland to hold pie supper and spaghetti dinner

Forkland’s 15th annual old-fashioned pie supper and spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday, March 10 in the Forkland Community Center, located in southwest Boyle County on Ky. 37, 30 minutes from Danville or Lebanon.

General admission is free. The spaghetti supper and entertainment will begin at 5:30 p.m. Cost for the dinner will be $7 for adults, $4 for children ages three to 10, and children under three are free. The meal will include spaghetti (with your choice of meat sauce or marinara and parmesan cheese), tossed salad with house dressing, garlic bread with butter and iced tea or lemonade. Soft drinks will be be sold at an additional cost.

The pie supper and auction will begin at 7 p.m. Bake your favorite pie and join in the fun at the auction. 

All proceeds go to Our Forkland Community Center.
