The bi-annual Lil Cherubs Consignment sale filled began Friday morning at Centenary United Methodist Church and will run through 2 p.m. today (Saturday). The second consignment sale for this year is scheduled for the third weekend in August. Thousands of items including clothing, toys, baby equipment and stuffed animals brought in hundreds of adults and children looking for bargains. With each purchase at the popular children’s consignment sale, the church receives 30 percent of the sale price which is donated to local charities and mission projects that solely help women and children.

Burt Tornstrom holds his great-grandson, Westley Tornstrum, while, “great-grandma is out doing the shopping,” he said.

At the Lil Cherubs consignment sale early Friday morning, shoppers perused through racks of boys’ clothing on the left, girls’ clothing on the right, and tables of toys and books. A little later in the morning, the floor was jam packed with shoppers carrying babies, pushing strollers and pulling wagons full of bargains.
