1945-2018

Carliss Edward Conley, 72, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence. Born July 16, 1945 in Magoffin County, Carliss was a son of the late Edward & Leona Caudill Conley. He was retired from Windstream after 51 years of service, having worked there when it was General Telephone of Kentucky, G.T.E., Verizon, Alltell & Windstream. He was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church, enjoyed playing softball and fishing, as well as watching his grandkids play in their respective sports. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. His survivors include his wife, Fran Broadus Conley, a son, Brandon (Melissa Gullette Colwell) Conley of Danville, a daughter, Dedria (Steve) Horn of New Caney, Tx., two sisters, Felsie (Roger) Bandy of Danville, Juanita (the late Harry) Gullette of Richmond, four grandchildren, Corey & Cody (Alex) Horn, Devin & Payton Conley & a great granddaughter, Adrian Blaine Horn. He also has several nieces and nephews including Clay (Georgia) Parsons, Kim Lester & Gayle Johnson. Funeral services for Carliss will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Revs. Steve Horn & Howard Coop with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Corey & Cody Horn, Clay Parsons, Preston DeBord, John Ball & Leroy Horn. Honorary bearers will be Jameson Debord, Wayne Gastineau, Billy Lanham, Mike Murphy, Chad Isaacs, Keith Prewitt, Billy Rigsby, Harry Whitt, Madison DeBord & Mattie Robbins. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM– 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
