Music & Drama Dept. spring lineup announced
MUSIC AND DRAMA PROGRAMS
Centre College
Spring isn’t just a season for flowers blooming, trees leafing out and heavy snowfalls that leave us all longing for warmer temperatures. It’s also when Centre College’s music and drama programs bring you entertainment in the form of plays and concerts.
These are either free or charge or low-priced events, featuring high quality singing, playing and acting. The first spring offering hits the stage Wednesday as the popular Cabaret features talented students singing jazz, musical theater and light contemporary music in a café atmosphere with coffee, tea and cookies. Most of the performers are members of Centre Singers, the music program’s audition-only choir directed by Dr. Johann van Niekerk.
The program starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Evans-Lively Room on the second floor of Old Carnegie on the Centre campus. The suggested donation for non-students is $5, payable in cash at the door.
The concert is open to the public, and free parking is available in the Norton Center for the Arts parking lot.
For more information, call Performing Arts Coordinator Sallie Bright at (859) 238-5424.
