Roberta Harness

1938-2018

Roberta Harness, 80, of Hamilton, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 9, at The Mercy Health Hospital in Fairfield. She was the wife of James Mitchell Harness whom she married on March 17, 1997.

Roberta was born in the community of Broughtontown, in Lincoln County, on April 27, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Elsie Gertrude (Hubbard) Jackson. Roberta had worked as a manager for the Cincinnati Bell Telephone Co. for 27 years. She was a member of the Norwood Church of Christ and the Model A Club. Roberta loved to travel and see the world.

Survivors Include her loving husband, James Mitchell Harness of Hamilton, Ohio; daughter, Kim Estep of Perryville; two sisters, Charlene Archer of Waynesburg and Sheila Long of Lexington; two grandchildren, Robert Aaron Estep and Tonya Thompson; four great grandchildren, Madison Middleton, Kimberly Estep, Chelsie Taylor and Caden Thompson; four stepchildren, Jean Frack of Florida, Danny Harness, Sandy Edmiston, and Bonnie Hamilton all of Ohio; nine step grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends also survives.

In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by brothers, Lonnie, Gerald and Marvin Odell Jackson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at McKnight Funeral Home.

Funeral service 2 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Her grandchildren and step grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
