Brewsaugh hired as wealth manager

LEXINGTON — Ross, Sinclaire & Associates has hired Danville native Matthew Brewsaugh as a wealth Mmanager in the firm’s Lexington office.

“I was first impressed by Matthew’s tenacity, professionalism and client-service model,”

said Kevin Thompson, director of RSA’s Private Client Group.. “He’s a problem-solver that brings substantive risk management expertise to RSA’s Private Client Group.”

Brewsaugh, who grew up in Danville and attended Midway College and the University of

Kentucky, previously worked as an independent financial advisor, a financial sales consultant

with PNC and a financial representative with AIG.

“I felt that RSA’s culture of being a client first firm would be wonderful to be a part of,”

Brewsaugh said.

When he is not at work or with clients, Brewsaugh enjoys spending time with his wife, Alexandra, and the couple’s 8-year-old daughter, Abi; camping; and following the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

“I look forward to working with all of the people at RSA,” Brewsaugh. “I am excited to learn from their experiences, and hopefully they can learn a little from me as well.”

Taul named president of international veterinary organization

LAKEWOOD, Colorado — The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) welcomed Darren Taul, DVM, as new president of its Board of Directors during its inaugural Connexity conference Sept. 13-16, 2018.

After graduating from Auburn in 1996, he and his wife (Stacey, also a veterinarian) moved back to central Kentucky. Taul opened Animal Hospital of Lancaster in 1999 and Animal Hospital of Danville in 2017. Both hospitals are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.

In addition to practicing veterinary medicine full time, he is a facilitator for the AAHA Adventure Series Pack Trips, speaker for the Veterinary Management Institute (VMI) and a consultant for Blue Heron Veterinary Consulting.

In his local community, he is the immediate past chair of the Heritage Hospice Board of Directors, a member of the Farmers National Bank Community Board, and serves on the KHELPS Medical Reserve Corps as an emergency respondent.  

AAHA is the only organization that accredits companion animal practices throughout the U.S. and Canada. Accredited hospitals have site evaluations on over 900 standards of care every two to three years.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Taul step into the role of president for 2018-2019,” said Michael Cavanaugh, DVM, DABVP (emeritus), chief executive officer of AAHA. “He brings a strong vision for AAHA and the veterinary profession; we are excited to see where he will lead us in the year to come.”

Taul began his term as president Sept. 16, during the AAHA Connexity conference.
