Coomer for Boyle County clerk

Prior to returning to his great home state of Kentucky, George Coomer resided in our Village of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, for a few years. During his time here, George was very involved and instrumental in the community. He was a member of the Lions Club, serving as president for two terms. He was a volunteer firefighter and an EMT with our Fire and EMS departments, and he served as Chairman of the Township Zoning Board.

In addition, George was first appointed, and then elected to the Mechanicsburg Village Council, and then was elected by his peers as President Pro Tem. During his time on the council, he formulated a plan to move our EMS department from a volunteer to a part-time paid department. As a small village of 1,700 people, we must always be extremely cost-effective yet efficient. George’s plan covered both bases. The format was so successful that we are still operating under it today, and have actually added additional coverage areas at the request of outside jurisdictions, and have EMS coverage to all of our area on a 24/7 basis.

George was also chairman of our Utility Committee and exhibited great insight to our water and sewer departments, and helped established and maintain a great working relationship with our water and sewer personnel and the Ohio EPA.

We found George to be well rounded and to have a very good understanding of how government functions and its relationship with the general public. He is more than willing to go above and beyond. He is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. To George, problems are mere challenges, and he is relentless in meeting those challenges.

Our loss is your gain, and in my opinion, George Coomer would be a great asset to your county as the Boyle County clerk.
