Casey County grand jury hands up indictments on 16

The following people were indicted by a Casey County grand jury on Oct. 8:

• Daphne Mae Crowe, 43, Liberty: possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; no driver’s license. Bail was set at $5,000 cash. Chad Weddle with the Casey County Sheriff’s Office testified.

• Jonathan Dale Brown, 38, Liberty: theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $500 and $10,000; second-degree fleeing or evading police; public intoxication. No bail was set and a summons was issued. Weddle testified.

• Brandon S. Denton, 33, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth, third offense; possession of drug paraphernalia. Weddle testified. First-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth, third offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; public intoxication; second-degree fleeing or evading police; criminal attempt to commit theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $500 and $10,000; resisting arrest. Bryan Shepard with the CCSO testified. Bail was set at $5,000.

• Lewis Carroll Redford, 48, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth, second offense; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $1,500 and Weddle testified.

• Billy Joe Miracle, 33, Stanford: possession of a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $1,500 cash or property. Weddle testified.

• Jasper Lee Blaylock, 39, Liberty: driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, fourth offense; five counts first-degree assault; driving on a suspended license; disregarding a stop sign; possession of open alcohol container in vehicle; leaving the scene of an accident. Bail was set at $50,000 cash. Weddle testified.

• James Darren Lee, 40, address unknown: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth, second offense; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $1,500 cash or property. Geoff Brown with the Casey County Sheriff’s Office testified.

• Anthony L. Allen, 51, Liberty: first-degree fleeing or evading police; failure to use proper signal; DUI; no driver’s license; no seat belts; no liability insurance; receiving stolen property valued between $500 and $10,000; second-degree criminal mischief; two counts first-degree criminal mischief to two vehicles belonging to the CCSO; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; possession of a defaced firearm. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. Brown testified.

• Daniel Travis Abell, 26, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia; second-degree fleeing or evading police. Bail was set at $1,000 cash. Darren Wesley, Casey County constable testified.

• Gregory Lee Allen, 41, Liberty: flagrant nonsupport of his minor children in the amount of $15,319.85. Bail was set at $5,000 cash. Chasity Crew testified.

• Vinnie O. Stacy Allen, 28, Yosemite: flagrant nonsupport of her minor children in the amount of $23,466.42. Bail was set at $5,000 cash and Crew testified.

• James Michael Terry, 33, Liberty: flagrant nonsupport of his minor children in the amount of $7,995. Bail was set at $5,000 cash and Crew testified.

• Ashley Dawn Short (also known as Ashley Allen), 34, Burkesville: flagrant nonsupport of her minor children in the amount of $20,936.79. Bail was set at $5,000 cash and Crew testified.

• Richard Aaron Mullins, 30, Richmond: flagrant nonsupport of his minor children in the amount of $16,419.12. Bail was set at $5,000 cash and Crew testified.

• Kegan S. Posey, 25, Liberty: flagrant nonsupport of his minor children in the amount of $5,002.92. Bail was set at $5,000 cash and Crew testified.

  Derrick Scott Hamilton, 37, Liberty; was directly indicted on information and did not appear before the grand jury: speeding 17 mph over the limit; no seat belts; no driver’s license; DUI; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third offense; possession of drug paraphernalia.
