Ephraim McDowell Health welcomes vascular surgeon, Patricio Rosa Sierra, M.D. to the medical staff. He will be seeing patients at the Ephraim McDowell Heart & Vascular Institute, 216 W. Walnut St., Danville.

Rosa Sierra is board-certified in vascular as well as general surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the premier Society for Vascular Surgery. Rosa Sierra has a special interest in aortic aneurysms and revascularization of threatened extremities, as well as dialysis access. He was trained in the military, having completed his vascular fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Rosa Sierra served 14 years of active duty, having reached the rank of lieutenant colonel, and was deployed on various occasions to Bosnia, Nairobi and Cambodia.

Rosa Sierra has been married for 36 years and they have three daughters. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, camping, hunting, archery and practicing the trumpet and guitar.
