The Boyle County Public Library offers many fun, educational events for all ages. Weekly programs include Adult Storytime 9 a.m. Mondays, Coding Classes 4 p.m. Mondays, Adult Education Classes 5 p.m. Mondays, Crafters Who Care 6 p.m. Mondays, and Storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. In addition to these weekly events, the following library-sponsored programs are scheduled for this week:

Tween Dungeons & Dragons Club: 4:30-7:30 Monday. Tweens (ages 9-13) are invited to come play this popular role-playing game in a social group setting. Food, refreshments, and gaming supplies will be provided. No experience is necessary to participate. Players who have their own dice, rulebooks, miniatures, etc., are welcome to bring them. Registration is recommended for participants of this event.

Kid’s Science Club: 4 p.m. Tuesday. At each of the four club sessions, participants will perform various winter-themed science experiments. This week they will be making Snowflake Slime and Frosty Magic Milk. Registration is required. (Ages 6-8)

Teen Book Club: 4 p.m. Tuesday. The book selection for this month is Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. Teens interested in participating can pick up a free book at the Circulation Desk. (Ages 13-18)

Let it Snow Crafting: 4:30 p.m. Thursday. A winter-themed crafting session for teens and tweens where participants will make a variety of snowflakes using art supplies, including origami paper, clothespins, straws, popsicle sticks, and pipe cleaners. (Ages 9-18)

History Café — Vintage Valentines: 6 p.m. Thursday. The public is invited to look at the DuBois Collection of Valentines. Donated by Kathy Watcher, the collection contains over 60 valentines from 1928-1935. In addition to taking a closer look, those in attendance will be able to make their own vintage-inspired valentines.

The Valentine collection was owned by Zella Harris DuBois.  It was donated by Kathy Wachter in 2018. DuBois was a teacher in Michigan and many of the valentines are from her students.
