Free admission to federal employees

HARRODSBURG — In response to the federal government shutdown, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill will be offering free admission to the landmark destination for furloughed families. Federal employees who present a photo ID or badge will be given complimentary access along with their immediate family members for the duration of the government shutdown.

“Our region is home to many people who have been affected by the shutdown, and we know that discretionary spending for outings and activities would be among the first things families would likely have to cut back on,” said president and CEO Maynard Crossland. “We want to invite these families to spend the day with us and enjoy some entertainment and education at The Village.”

Free meals to furloughed federal employees

Ephraim McDowell Health is pleased to provide free meals for furloughed federal employees and their immediate family at any of our three hospitals in Danville, Stanford or Harrodsburg.  Furloughed workers will have to show their federal ID to the cashier to receive the free meal.

“We know these are difficult times for a lot of our neighbors who aren’t getting paid, so we want to help, if just in a small way,” says Dan McKay, president and CEO of Ephraim McDowell Health.

Furloughed workers are welcome to eat at the cafeterias at EMRMC in Danville, Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford or Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg.
