Weekly programs include Adult Storytime 9 a.m. Mondays, Coding Classes 4 p.m. Mondays, Adult Education Classes 5 p.m. Mondays, Crafters Who Care 6 p.m. Mondays , and Storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

In addition to these weekly events, the following library-sponsored programs are scheduled for this week:

Middle School Book Club: 4:30 p.m. Monday. Participants will discuss “Nevermoor” by Jessica Townsend. Those interested should register at the library to pick up a free book. Snacks will be available.

Adult How-To Make Soups and Stews: 6 p.m. Monday. Learn how to make hearty soups and savory soups to help keep you warm this winter. Whether you are a novice cook or a seasoned chef, this class is sure to add to your personal cookbook. This program will be led by Alethea Price and is offered in partnership with the Boyle County Cooperative Extension Service.

Kid’s Science Club: 4 p.m. Tuesday. At each of the four club sessions, participants will perform various winter-themed science experiments. This week they will be making Super Bouncy Snowballs and Erupting Snowballs. Registration is required. (Ages 6-8)

Teen Tabletop Games: 7 p.m. Thursday. Teens can explore modern, in-depth, strategic tabletop games such as Dead of Winter, RISK, and Settlers of Catan. Participants may also bring their own games to share. All tabletop games are welcome, including war games, dueling card games, cooperative survival, and more. Refreshments will be provided. All skill levels are welcome. This program will be held in the Community Room. (Ages 13-18)

Robotics Makerspace: 6 p.m. Thursday. At this STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) event, participants can play around with beginning coding while programming robots Dash & Dot, Code & Go Mouse, Code-a-pillar, and the Robot Turtles board game. STEM activities help children become creative problem solvers. STEM toys aim to develop logic, creativity, experimentation, and collaboration. They may even help spark an early interest in science or technology. While the robots are school-age friendly, all ages are welcome to attend. This event will be held in the Storytime Room.
