Items on the agenda include: open forum with Aprile Hunt discussing praise and worship series and Greg Caudill, representing the Presbyterian Church of Danville and a Civil War monument; City Attorney Justin Johnson will present his research on a smoking ban; adjustment to ordinance to allow Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs as pets within the city limits; news business concerns about mechanical braking on semi-trucks; debit/credit card for small purchases by city employees.

Hogsett Primary School SBDM Special Called Meeting — 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 at Hogsett Primary School, 410 E. Main Street. Agenda includes: Interviews, closed session to review and discuss principal applicants and interview candidates; motion and approval to enter closed session per KRS 61.810 (1) (f) to discuss principal applicants and interview candidates for the vacancy at Hogsett Primary School.

Birding hike

Central KY Wildlife Refuge will host a birding hike on Saturday, May 4 beginning at 9 a.m. The hike will start with a visit to the bird blind for orientation. Participants will then hike through varied habitat looking for migrating songbirds as well as our resident species. The total length of the hike will be about two miles over easy trails. Clarification

In the story “Boyle’s zoning doesn’t currently allow Airbnbs” that appeared in the Wednesday, May 1, issue, one short-term rental property was identified as being in the area of Kings Mill Marina. The property is more accurately described as being in the area of Kings Mill Road, on the other side of Herrington Lake from the marina.
