The Historically Bold Tours Committee sponsored by Preservation Kentucky’s Tour120, Danville Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Main Street Perryville and Perryville Battlefield will participate in a statewide event featuring historic properties in Perryville, Kentucky in honor of National Preservation Month.

Preservation Kentucky’s Tour120 is an exciting new statewide heritage tourism program designed to raise awareness of the importance of historic preservation and heritage tourism to Kentucky’s communities. The year-long program launches on Saturday-Sunday, May 18-19, 2019 during National Historic Preservation Month, with tours of historic buildings on the same days throughout the state to make a large impact on the public and provide a cohesive branding and promotional opportunity for the sites that participate. The goals are to showcase Kentucky’s diverse historic architecture, increase visitors to historic sites, spark interest in all age groups and get folks out into their own and neighboring communities to explore the built environment that tells our Kentucky story.

Boyle County will kick off the event with two rotating tours beginning at 6 p.m. on May 18, and 5 p.m. on May 19. Ticket cost is $25 per person and must be purchased in advance at www.downtownperryville.com. Tour groups will meet at the Karrick Parks House followed by a guided walk to Johnson Britton House, and a round-trip wagon ride (Saturday only) to HP Bottom House at Perryville Battlefield.

Parking will be available at the Johnson Britton House, 207 South Buell St. Please note that this is a walking tour for which parts will take place outdoors. Some buildings and facilities are not handicap accessible.

This is a guided tour and not an open house so please arrive 15-20 minutes early. Light refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the tour.

All proceeds from the event will benefit preservation in Boyle County.
